Lok Sin Tong Yu Kan Hing strives to develop a strong English language focus. With this aim in mind there are three NET teachers who run events, activities and programmes to develop the skills needed by students for higher-order thinking using English. At lunchtimes, students can go and play high energy, interactive games with the Nets and the English Ambassadors to develop their vocabulary and speaking. Much fun is had by all.

Other learning experiences include a special day on Thursday for reading books and magazines. With the support of the library, we have a large collection of fiction and non-fiction big books for the students to enjoy. The English Corner is also open allowing students to come and join in playing board-games or just having the opportunity to practice speaking or ask questions. A new programme this year is the Yu Kan Hing Puppet Theatre. Students have the opportunity to write scripts and perform. Of course, we continue to have our major annual events to celebrate Christmas (with the yearly Christmas Pageant), a Halloween dress up activity, Easter bunnies visiting, a special Valentine’s Day event, the Boardgame Challenge and the English song competition.
